heh, no in your case the highest (pixel) resolution and current
(starred) resolution are the same, 1280x1024 -- that's 1280 pixels
(horiz.) x 1024 pixels (vert.).

It's kind of hard to say anything about your display strangeness without
being able to poke into knoppix's settings and twiddle things. :-( ;-)
