Actually, I am yet to approve a message because other people keep getting them before me. But I run my palm-pda mailing list with mailman and have to approve quite a few messages to it. However I usually only go into the web interface and approve messages once every week or two. Amazing the amount of spam it gets. > John and Stewart are gritting their teeth every time they have to hit a > webpage to moderate posts instead of just making mutt do the dirty work > in a reply to the list daemon. eh...it would be nice if they could just reply but I don't see it as a big deal. They can not moderate and contribute in some other way if it really vexes them that much. > Or have you guys come up with other creative solutions? Or is the > webpage really not that bad? I don't think it's a big deal. Mailman emails people and tells them their post is stuck in moderation doesn't it? If not we should enable that. That way they can resub with the right address to get their posts through faster which will cut down on the moderation work. If we have someone monitoring constantly and approving instantly this reduces their incentive to post from a subscribed address. -- Tracy Reed http://copilotcom.com This message is cryptographically signed for your protection.
