I think it does.

Naturally, this is not a widespread belief, especially in our culture. :)

Erm. Let's avoid _trying_ to start a flamewar, shall we? That sort of
insult was uncalled for.

Correct. I apologize if it seemed that I was implying such a thing.

I was trying to say that if we're the sort of people that casually
accept mockery of others, we're probably the sort of people that it's
best to distance oneself from. If SDCS is the sort of organization that
can't let a group leave without stirring up some sort of deep-seated
grudge, then SDCS is the sort of organization to which it's best to
not belong.

And this is a problem why?

I have no problem with SIGs wanting to keep their assets. And if they
think they can do a better job, far be it from me to hold 'em back. The
one good thing that ought to come out of this mess is a simplified
and documented mechanism allowing a group to leave SDCS gracefully.

Um, "unfamiliar" as in "having to get involved" is a problem with roots
in our (the other SIGs) behavior, not theirs.

We're fixing this. So it's been angsty. That's the fun bit.
