I think we should probably just configure the list to bounce non-subscribed addresses. That way the users are not left wondering where their email is and it saves us from having to manually approve them. The vast majority of mails in the queue are always spam anyhow. I went through the lists yesterday and approved a few messages that had been waiting for days to weeks with no notification to the end users.
