You should be aware (if you're not already) that the SDCS has a set-up
with Wells Fargo that allows SIGs to open subordinate accounts under the
SDCS parent account. The SIG still controls its own funds, but it
greatly simplifies the reporting requirements because the SDCS treasurer
can simply ask for a year-end report rather than the SIG having to
provide one. These accounts are, of course, free since you are a
non-profit by virtue of being a SIG.
Of course, you can choose to open an account elsewhere, in which case
you'll need documentary proof of your non-profit status. Your choice.
Stan Follis can give you more details. I believe it's a good deal, and
would be the best thing for KPLUG and the KPLUG treasurer.
