I can not recall my numbers and temps per say, but the issue was when I took a passenger. That passenger was an adult male pilot and he was lighter then me. I am a 5"10 ish 5"11 and weigh 170 to 175. He is a little smaller at about 5' 6" and maybe 150 lb. He is a very experienced professional pilot for Applebee's restaurants as well as a builder owner of a Fly baby. He was the one that got concerned about the numbers and felt we should turn around and land. He was being very cautious about damaging my engine. I kind of thought we should level out and see if things settled down. As far as flying qualities with 2 up it felt about the same as the difference of riding a motorcycle solo verses riding with a passenger on the back. It actually felt firmer or heavier and more stable. Then again , the flight was very short. I did however feel that knowing that my baffling was allowing a lot of air by without flowing over the jugs, I agreed to be safe rather then sorry. I did also however find that when I was checking things out that my right side cylinders had very low compression. I discovered that the stud bolts had backed out and upon re torque of the bolts the compression came right back up. I have wondered ever since then if that had more effect on the temps then anything else. But I still want to get the baffling as right as I can. I have actually let the plane sit now for over a year as I started modifying my lower cowling. I cut out the old air scoop and am in the process of glassing on an RV6 scoop. It is fully glassed an in primer now. Four kids, the greatly increased job workload, getting back into motorcycling, restoring a car, you know, all the excuses have kept me from getting back to this. I even feel that the change in the KR net forum has had a lot to do with losing my focus. I wish I had a KR guy that was near by so as to help both of us keep motivated and all. If you look under completions, Jeff York , you can see my plane. It is a real beauty thanks to Bill Gaudlip the original builder. I am just trying to improve on it.
