I wanted to pass an idea I came up with after my first attempt failed to
assemble my horz stab and elevator. ?I could not get that thing to level up and
stay straight. ?
I remade Mark's inboard and outboard ribs and extended the lower bumps ?so they
were exactly the same distance from the ribs center line (cord line). I used
1.750". ?After reassembling I laid the tail on my flat table and everything
lined up perfectly. I ?then glued all the ribs and spars together. ?I made two
?extra inboard rips and installed them were the part on the trailing edge is
moved over to accommodate the 30 degrees for the rudder clearance. After the
epoxy dried I removed the unwanted parts of the ribs. That aft section of rib
again was perfectly aligned. I should be glassing ?the next time I'm home.
