I've been using an iPad in the airplane for several years, and am happy with it. I will take slight exception to your description of "bulletproof", however. They are temperature sensitive, and tend to shut down when they get hot. It has happened to me personally, and lots of reports on the Van's RV forums. Keep it in the shade, and/or direct some cooling air on it, and they seem fine. I use WingX on mine, but there are plenty of other good apps available too. -Dj
