How big of advantage over the standard compass?

I like it because it turns in the same direction as a DG and even looks like
a DG. It also does not bobble around like a regular compass.

Do you still get interference from other instruments or can you position it
in the panel next to others?

I believe that it acts just like a regular compass in that respect, unless
you have a remote. The remotes run up in the $700 range.

I've heard that the compass should be in the center of the plane and away
from other instrumentation? True?

That is true, but with adjustment, I made my compass work in the panel on my
first KR.
