Steve McGee, RE:
1- What is peel -ply? It is a material that you can purchase in rolls like tape, of different widths, or like you would a bolt of rayon. It is used to lay over your glass and resin lay-up so it can suck up excess resin and give you a smooth, "sanded" surface. After your layup cures, you "peel" it off. It helps reduce pin holes, gets rid of a little excess resin, and gives a smooth surface ready for finish or the laying up of more glass. 3- In a taildragger design, how much speed and handling improvements are made with retractable main gear. If anyone has had a chance to fly both. None. I flew my first KR with both and can't proove it, but I think it was faster with the fixed gear. You are asking for nothing but trouble with the old retract. I don't know of anyone who is building that anymore. The other questions are better answered by others on the net. N64KR Daniel R.
