The canopy door conversion is now complete. We estimated 3 weeks and it only took 7. The total cost was about $30, $20 of which was for the gas spring.
On budget, overdue. I am in the information systems department at work and we have to estimate the duration and cost of projects all the time. We have found, over time, that if we come up with our best guess and multiply it by our personal fudge factor ( PFF ), we will be very close. Well, my PFF is 2 5. So if you multiply 3 * 2.5, you get 7.5, so I guess the project actually came in a little early. I want to thank Larry F. for his advise and for convincing me to go to the gas spring. This door operates perfectly, as you will see in the pictures. It will stay where you put it, just like Larry said it would. Click on the link below to see how it was done. The last 20 pictures in the thumbnail list are the ones for the final installation and the gas spring. http://kr-builder.org/NewCanopy/index.html N64KR Daniel R.
