Hi all, Just a few quick questions, I've just finished drilling my spars for the WAF's and am not sure about painting them. Should I glass blast them and paint or just leave them raw? I've had them lying around in the workshop for a bout 6 months now with no signs of surface rust !! does this 4130 steel rust or not? If I do paint them am I right in assuming that I don't paint the side that gets floxed to the spar ? On another subject, there is a guy here in Australia who is casting main gear leg attach brackets and nose gear forks !! If I buy a fork from him and fabricate a nose strut to suit the prop I'm going to use, what size tube should I use for the nose strut? I assume it's about 1" dia but what should the wall thickness be ( what is Dan Diehl using ?)
