To All:

Want to make your veedub air-startable?  Install a compression release.

Fuel on, ignition on, pull the big red knob, put the nose down, wait for the 
prop to spin-up then release the red knob.

This ultra high tech option consists of a set of fingers that are cammed down 
against the retainers of the exhaust valves.  The fingers are fitted to a 
shaft installed in the valve gallery of the cylinder heads, the shaft is 
connected to a lever, the levers are actuated by a pull-cable.  SOP for 
motorgliders.

This isn't anything new.  I developed such a modification some years ago for 
the long-wing KR but Ken Rand and Mira Slovak were the only people who showed
