The AS504x certainly wasn't designed for the KR-1, but it can't be any worse match for it than the RAF48 is. I would expect the same decrease in drag, with other performance staying the same. The KR2S and KR-1 both used the same airfoil, so I would think that's your first clue that the AS504x should work with either one as well.
