Ron, You're right. AVOIDANCE is the ONLY option at very low altitudes as RECOVERY is NEVER an option when the altitude is not available. Training will help a pilot to recognize an impending stall and, hopefully, use options #1 and/or #2 that I stated eariler to fly safely out of the situation. But even with training, it is too easy to fly right past everything the airplane is telling us and stall the wing anyway. Maybe an A of A indicator that has a warning device that is a big fist that comes out of the panel and smacks us between the eyes to get our attention is the answer. :-) Larry Flesner
