Darn, I need help again. Looks like I may not make Mondays planned first flight. Oil pressue, bops back and forth from zero to normal, the warmer the engine gets, the more the gauge tends toward zero. Tried two senders and gauges....type 4, 2 litre '1972 bus engine. Any suggestions out there?
It pays to do a lot of taxi testing! Something shows up as weak, unacceptable or down right broken each time I taxi. The first time I brought it out for testing was two years ago. It ran well that day, but during the night a major autumn storm, wind and snow lifted the hanger up in the air turning it upside down and landing in someones back yard 200 yards away. It took with it my nose bowl, half of the cowling and part of my rudder, as well as two feet off of the wings of the SE 5A tied down next to me. Gotta tie those tent hangers down real well! One more question; In some of the fotos of the fly in I saw scat tubeing on one of the carbs. I have a big foam filter on mine and wonder if I am doing the smart thing.
