You'll probably also find that with a little toe-in as you wheel the beast
backwards over several metres (say into a hanger) the wheels will work their
way outwards and splay the legs until they build up sufficient flex to
overcome tread friction and spring in again. This factor caused me hassles
in setting my toe-in and camber correctly..... also it alters as you lift
the tail because the legs move from an angle to more vertical. There are
many other variables as you have described...so many that I finished up
making the arbitary decision to go with zero toe-in and camber at gross
weight in level attitude. Seems to work OK. Prop torque and hasty power
changes seems to have a much more profound effect on controllability in my
aircraft than does small shim changes to axle geometry.
