Patricia,
I have no idea how you "screwewd up" your stainless steel firewall but
I can tell you how to do it and make it fit perfect the first time when you
get a new piece of stainless steel. Make a cardboard template first even if
you have to piece card board together from smaller pieces, tailor it to fit
the existing wood firewall with the engine mount holes and everything. Then
use the template as a pattern for the final stainless steel firewall.
I used stainless steel on top of asbestosis and I got the stainless
steel from a local sign shop. I think your best bet would be a sheet metal
shop if you can find one, if not look for a sign shop. Good luck with your
project. A woman building an airplane of any kind is rare so I would still
like to have some progress pictures, better yet, send some to Mark Langford
and ask him to put them on his web site so all of us can look at them.
