I forgot to mention that it is a good idea to check into the EAA Flight
Advisor program. There is information here:

http://members.eaa.org/home/homebuilders/faq/Flight%20%20Advisors.html

I did not use a flight advisor, but I did talk to a few on the phone and got
the names of several local tailwheel instructors that I would not have found
otherwise. Give a local one a call and see if they can help point you
towards some time in an appropriate airplane.

I've heard several comments that the Pulsar flies much like the KR.
You might check to see if you have any in the area.
