As was pointed out to me by Cris, Rand Robinson reserves the right to NOT
sell any of their parts, "kits", or other items to someone who does not hold
a registered set of plans and they sure won't answer any of your support
questions (if they had a support line in the first place). That isn't a big
deterrent to most scratch-builders, but could be a deterrent for some who
want to purchase parts or "kits" from Rand Robinson.

The other reason, as has been mentioned by Virg and many others, is as both
a courtesy to the author of the plans and as a clean and respectable entry
to the KR family. Since it's Friday and I've already been dragged around
the block a few times today, I don't mind going out on a limb to generalise
by saying that plans-pirates tend to be corner-cutters and don't always want
to do the homework for themselves. Those who buy the plans through
legitimate channels tend to work through most problems on their own and lend
support to others when needed.

Dana... move over a little bit in that aluminum foxhole and pass me a flak
jacket. I hear incoming...
