Hi Bobby, If you go to Marks website, I believe he has drawings for a welded
4130 gear leg bracket. First, I assume you are using the Diehl composite
legs???. Dan Diehl sells an aluminum catsing for the legs, However they are
not the same height as the new 18% airfoil and you would have to put extra
material on the spar in the area of the brackets to assure proper strength
around the bolts. A word of caution.. I have a set of the TET gear leg
brackets( I don't believe mark is making them any longer)The problem is they
are set up for something like a 60 degree gear leg angle. This is too much.
According to Dan Diehl, The gear legs MUST be at the 45 degrees they were
designed for to flex properly. The axel brackets are also designed to be 45
degrees as well( they come with the complete Diehl gear leg kit.). The TET
brackets are a beautiful example of craftsmanship, Just the wrong angle.
Hope this helps. Jim Sporka , KR2S, corvair, new airfoil, colorado,
collecting dust.
