I didn't make those gear leg brackets, Dr. Dean did. But my understanding is that the 10 difference is in the direction of giving the KR more ground clearance, so the legs are more vertical than they would have been. In that case, I would think they would take more load, not less. Maybe Dan thought "10 degrees more splayed out", but I think (and I could be wrong) that it's the other way around.
