I use those quite a bit for welding, woodwork, and occasionally even light machining. As far as I can tell they're infinitely adjustable, but you can't get as much clamping pressure with them as with screw clamps. For gluing parts that's actually an advantage since it's harder to squeeze all the goo out of the joint. The drawback to these clamps is that they're expensive and don't last forever.
