Do be sure to use an external antenna.  The difference between even a cheap
antenna mounted on or in the plane and the rubber duckie antenna on the
handheld is like night and day.

Great feedback. Being the cheapskate that I am, I will set up the handeld
without the amp. I also notice that wherever I saw it before, it isn't there
now (Chief AC  I thought; maybe Wag Aero).  From the discussion, I can save
both weight and bucks.
I have one wing complete, the aileron to create on the other wing; canopy to
finish; cowl to fit - I guess I have enough to do without the amplification!
