Had the same thing happen to me. I came into possession of a partially
completed KR-2 project. When I started to dissassemble things, I noticed a
crack start at the WAF. By just pressing along the glue fillet with my
thumb, the skin easily separated from the spar. I'm told they used a
polyester based glue (????) to bond the skins to the spars. I'm told that
since the skins are made with vinylester resin, that only a vinylester based
glue should be used. Dan Diehl apparently sells this to builders. Has anyone
else used something else with success? Also are there special precautions
needed to prep skins and spars prior to bonding?

Netters;
I just bought a KR2 project with Diehl wing skins. The builder had used the
wrong glue and very poor technique to assemble the wings. It took me less
than
an hour and a couple of hand tools to ply them apart. The glue simply did
not
adhere to the wing skin, the bonds popped apart with hand pressure. The
builder was obviously not a man to follow instructions, and I felt it was at
least
an amusing cautionary tale.
Had this gotten to the air, it would have delaminated very quickly. OUCH!
(the seller was a gracious gent from Tx and not the builder, he let me know
what
the issues were up front.)
Incedently, I am very pleased with my purchase, I will salvage the skins and
use a lot of the other parts to save a fair amount of time and money.
