Today, I flew the Black Bird for 1.1 hours and got in 1.1 landings. For the FIRST time, I can go fly again without having to fix anything. That does not mean that everything is perfect, but there are no problems that are a reason not to fly the plane.
The OAT was around 55 and I cruised at 3000 RPM for most of the hour. The OT was at 185 for a while, then went to 195 and was approaching 200, when I eased the throttle back a little. That was near the end of the flight. The EGT stayed steady at 1200, where I set it, and the CHT stayed steady at 280, which is a bit on the cool side. A problem I like having. Now for the best part, the OP stayed steady at 50. I was hoping for at least 40, so I am a happy camper. The landing was a squeaker as I was able to land on 31 which seems easy compared to 13. The visual on 13 is bad for me, I guess. Well, then I had to leave to go help my daughter with something, so now, to fly another day. Look out Matt, I'm coming.
