----- Original Message ----- From: "Larry Eilenberger" <[email protected]> But one thing I never see elaborated on is how does one start to build a KR. Where do you buy the plans, or must it be a kit or what? Also for one who has never actually had a license to fly can I master this aircraft after I build it? I understand that I would have to almost start over on the licensing process as it has been 40 years since I have last been at the controls. Any encouragement or discouragement or comments would be welcome.
Well Larry, The building of a KR is a great experance. I enjoyed it very much. It will take some time to complete a KR-II. Don't let happen to you what happened to me. I completed mine with all the paper work and signed off for flight. I was into high speed taxi runs up and down the runway and flying my old Cessna every weekend. My medical came due. I didn't pass. I locked the hangar door and left for Alaska. A few years have passed now and I've become used to the idea. I'm now ready, to let go of my life's first love (flying). I'm returning to Central Oregon this summer. N37LH and N7215T need to be dusted off, sold and see some sunshine again. So Larry, my advice is, that the building experance is wonderful but, If you want to fly, GO FLY. Lynn Hyder KL7YXF http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/lhyder/ [email protected]
