Dave,

FWIW, if you are converting to the Diehl fixed gear, I would recommend the
Tracy Obrien KR axles and brakes. <http://www.tracyobrien.com/kraxle.html> They
are very economically priced axles, brakes, and wheels. If you send Tracy an
email at <sa...@tracyobrien.com> and tell him what you are doing, he'll put
together a package for you for a price that would be hard to pass up. That
would include the angle brackets for the bottom of the gear, axles, brakes, &
wheels.

FWIW, I'm not a big fan of newer unproven designs and have poo pooed the Tracy
Obrien wheels and brakes for several years. I have to see them in action before
I'm a believer. However, one of our local EAAers used the Tracy Obrien axles,
wheels, and brakes on his Sonex so he could install hydraulic differential
braking. If one wants to run the smaller tires like the Sonex and most KRs
have, the Tracy Obrien set up offers a good combination of quality,
functionality, and modest price.

As for NVAero, Steve works a full time job as well as trying to operate NVAero
with himself and a part time employee who also has a full time job elsewhere.
The situation makes it such that he is difficult to catch.

Subject: KR> Anyone know the best time to get a person at NV Aero

I can't do the 'leave a message and get called back' thing due to no return
number here in AFG. And they don't seem too good at returning e-mails.... I'm
trying to get an answer for 'Do the 5/8" axles (shown as a set on the website)
come as a set, or individually?' - for $158 I would sincerely hope the answer
is 'set' - but I have to know before I order (looking to replace the gear on
the plane I bought with Diehl tri-gear - discussions on this list have lead me
to believe that the stock RR spring-gear isn't re-usable for this purpose, with
the exception of wheels/tires/brakes, ergo 5/8 axles)....
