A place to start is to determine what prop you have now. You said its a 53
diameter  but what pitch? I have a prop for sale which is a 54 diamater 52
pitch which is probably too much for a 1835 VW. If you would like to see how
this prop is marled go to http://jackskr2.webstarts.com/   . In this case it is
marked on the side of the hub but I think others are marked on the face of the
hub and would require removing to determine the pitch.

Subject: KR> Propellers

Another 'bit' from my last week's work on the plane:

One tip of the wood prop has about a 3" crack in it going through all
but the last outer ply 'skin' on the back of the prop.

It's a 53" prop, on an 1835 (presumably HAPI) VW.

1) Is repairing such a crack safe/economical, and if so, how does one go
about doing it?

2) What is the 'normal' range of prop dimensions for a KR-2 with an
1835? Eg, how do I determine what to replace this prop with, if fixing
it is out the window?
