As a supplement to whatever one uses to cover up the wing joint, I've used white Scotch 35 2-inch wide tape to seal any gaps and seams. It's very difficult to find in the 2 inch width - but it's out there. My only known source is a sailplane business at Warner Springs:

Another source of good tapes for gap seals and other airplane uses (such as the elevator hinges) is this place below.
