I did it in about 5 weeks. Went to the airport every day and flew for at least 
an hour. Weekends I flew longer. plus small tweaks.

forty hours. Especially with weather and mechanical tweaks and life also gets 
in the way. Some people have been known to fly to the Gathering with only like 
10 hours on a fresh engine and about the same on tailwheel experience. Not
