Larry I tried the mesh between two gaskets back in the 70's on my car. Remember when Auto gas was getting so high. Turned out it was a great place for ice to build up under the carb. Blocked it so bad all it would do was idle then it would stall out as the ice melted and drained down the manifold. Great thought - bad idea. My screen was about window screen size.
Even tried to energize it with 10 meg resistor running from the coil !! ION SPLITER or something....wonder I still here...
