uAvionix Skybeacon....I just put on a Cherokee 140 by replacing a left wing
tip light because it has the STC for Piper/Cessna, etc. However, my friend put
it on as the tail light of his RV (which you can do with an experimental).

With Oshkosh and Sun-n-fun coming up I'd not get in a hurry to buy
anything. I picked up ADS-B in
https://www.iflygps.com/STORE/Product/stratux-rxwxat at Oshkosh for
$150, fully assembled. It is WIFI to my 10 inch tablet running IFLY
software. You can bet there will be deals this summer at the Oshkosh
and S-N-F. An remember, even with the 2020 deadline, you only need
ADS-B where a transponder is required. As with anything electronic,
prices will only come down in time. I'm thinking that after the 2020
deadline passes and suppliers think the market is drying up, prices will
be cut by up to 50%. That's only a guess so use your best judgement.
For example, when IFLY software first hit the market, I had to purchase
a $500+ box from IFLY to run the software. I now run the same software
on an $80, 10" tablet, with a $79 per year subscription, unlimited
updates, and I can run it on two platforms so I could fly with a backup
on my smart phone, if I had a smart phone. I'm waiting for my 13 year
old flip phone to fail before I upgrade. I'm hearing they now give some
of the smart phones for free with a contract. I can wait.
