We use the shorai quite a bit in the formula vee racecars and they seem to be very tolerant of abuse, and as previously mentioned are very light. The one weakness we found is that there seems to be some play between the actual battery and the consumer case in the vertical direction, as the guys that have mounted them on their side (terminals forward) eventually have case breakage.
