I'm asking for a friend and it's not a KR but a Quickie. Hope that's ok.
It's been years since I owned a Continental 0-200 and I remember having
this issue but not sure how I fixed it.
Friend had had his 0-200 alternator rebuilt twice and it's gone out again.
He mentioned having oil on the belly and my thoughts are the following.
Push rod tube oil leakage, or excessive crankcase pressure from bad rings
causing blow by in excess of Air/oil separator, Air/Oil separator tube or
tank issues. Alternator gear not having enough back lash causing oil
leakage ( common to 0-200)
I know we are a KR community and there are KR's like Larry flying them with
C 0-200's so this will help this group as well as my friend.

P.s. hoping life and career is getting to a place that I can spend more
time on my beautiful KR2. I hate missing KR gatherings because of my chase
in the rat race.
