This year will make number 29 of the last 30 Gatherings I've attended. The first was Rough River in Kentucky in 1990. I missed the one in California although starting west in the KR. I got as far as Arkansas for the first fuel stop. The wind in Oklahoma was more than I wanted to tackle so I reversed course and came back to Illinois and set it out in my recliner. I hated to break the string but I didn't want to see the KR rolling across Oklahoma like a tumbleweed with me strapped inside. Discretion is the better part of valor. I'm still here to attend another Gathering.
