I took some photos this evening of my wing gap covers. Years ago (15+)
I made covers with fiberglass but didn't like the way they turned out
and I wanted to finish building and get on with flying. I went to the
hardware store and bought a roll of roof flashing 6 inches wide and cut
it down the middle giving me enough material for both wings. Here is
the results with 15 years and very near 800 hours of flight time.
Left wing with good lead edge wrap

left wing bottom trail edge - two screws at rear spar

right wing top - note lead edge is not a straight line

Because the lead edge was not straight the wrap would not round the lead
edge and then line up with the trail edge. Her is my fix. I cut the
material, lined up the bottom with the lead edge and attached the to
pieces with two screws and covered with clear tape. I'm sure this is
what cost me a "Lindy" award at Oshkosh and the extra drag of the two
screws is why Langford is faster than me.

If these photos show the KR to be a bit "grungy" in spots remember this
is a flyer, not an award winning show plane.
