Hi Larry. Yes, the one wing was found some distance from the rest of the wreckage. Apparently it was quite obvious that the spar broke under the seat. I am sure the cause will be well investigated by both the locals who had access to the scene and the local authority (SACAA)
As far as how the plane was flown I cannot comment on the fatal flight but it is well known that the pilot was flying the plane quite vigorously a while before the accident as reported by eye witnesses. He was also well known for always trying to get the most out of any plane as can be seen by some videos on YouTube. He was a well known and respected local aerobatic pilot and he also had a test pilot's rating.
