I'm sure William Wynne is recommending a battery for use with a Corvair Engine.
For the VW, the Lawn and Tractor type battery works fine for me.
There are lots of options out there. The basic lawn and tractor battery is
probably the least expensive, and easy to find a replacement for when
traveling.

IIRC, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that William Wynne
recommends an Odyssey AGM battery, I believe a 680 or larger. It's a battery
that can be mounted in any position. It is smaller than a regular lead acid
batteries, and safer, more reliable and powerful. It has none of the quirks of
a lithium battery.
