In several places where we've lived and where I've had airplanes, there are
times when it would be good to look inside the wings. When I hangared my
Pietenpol on an airpark out in the country where there were gaps under and
around the hangar doors, winter or rainy weather would bring mice and rats into
the hangar, especially if there was anything in the trash that might attract
them. We also had a lot of oak trees and there were fox squirrels and gray
squirrels living in the trees, and those rascals can eat the insulation off of
wiring and make nests in tucked-away locations inside a hangar or an airplane.
Stef, if there are no entry points for rodents to get inside your wings or you
have a tight hangar for your KR, none of that may matter. Others may have
their wing gap covers off for some length of time in winter or they may be
building a plane and don't have the wings on it yet, so in those cases it might
be good to get a look around inside the wings and tailcone.
