No, the external progress is shown by the desktop environment. So it totally 
(and only)
depends on the DE you are using, if it supports the KIO notification and how it 
is
configured. There is no control from Krusader over the external progress.
If you're using KDE's Plasma, the progress should be shown somewhere (in the 
taskbar iirc)
but I'm using LXQt and cannot test that.

The internal Job toolbar is meant as a general solution independent from the 
DE. But, of
course, you can always deactivate it.
