I had this external progress bar window under xfce4 for a long, long time.
But - i cannot say when - it has disappeared.
So I installed plasma-desktop and checked there.

The best I can get is to select "Show hidden icons" in the panel, then
right click on "notifications", choose "Configure Notifications ..." and in
the window opening I check "Track file transfers and other jobs". Then I
get a additional notification button in the panel area when copying files.
If I click on this button, another progress bar is shown.

If I unselect "Track file transfers and other jobs" no external window
opens when copying files (I think this was the behaviour with some earlier
krusader/ plasma versions).

So right now, the built in progress bar of krusader does the best jobs
regardless if I am using plasma (KDE) or xfce4. So I never would deactivate
it.

The previous external window showed the transfer rate in addition - but of
course, no one is dying although I am missing it quite a bit.
