I'm running Krusader on Ubuntu, not Redhat Linux. Maybe that's part of the 
problem. I have set Ubuntu's document viewer (evince) to be the default 
application for PDF files, and indeed this opens PDF files everywhere 
*except* in Krusader via the F3 key.

I did manage to associate wine with .EXE files, though, so thank you for 
that! :-)
