Comment: I can confirm this bug! Random messages pop up saying "Display changed: LCD off" or "Display changed: LCD on ". Furthermore, /var/log/syslog is full of following messages: Asus ACPI: Error reading brightness Asus ACPI: Error reading LCD status The messages popup so frequently that the laptop is not usable at all. This is a showstopper as a common user would not be able to turn the culprit off and would give up soon on Kubuntu.
