Hi Mike, Do you still have package 'indi' installed? Its installed as part of the non-ppa version of kstars however libindi0 conflicts with it, so you'll need to remove it before installing the ppa version.
If you're having problems after that, I suggest removing indi, libindi0 and kstars, refreshing your apt cache and installing kstars again.
