I looked over this issue a bit tonight (and took the opportunity to update the Vcs entries in debian/control and sync jr's 2.0.2-0ubuntu1 changes), and it looks like we have a Debian- /Ubuntu-specific corner case in that the executable name (normalize-audio) does not match the "program name" string (normalize) preceding the version string (0.7.7). (Personally it's rather nasty to assume argv[0] will always match what's printed in --version, but that opinion is jaded by working with lots of these cases.) So, do we hack ExternalBin* or change normalize-audio's source code? Opinions?
