I have been trying to get kvpnc 0.8.2.1 to compile on FreeBSD 6.0. In the part about doing make -f admin/Makefile.common, I keep getting errors. I have had problems with the source code needing automake, autoconf, and now aclocal. I went into the ports and installed automake, and autoconf but they didn't work until I created symbolic links to them in /usr/local/bin. Under FreeBSD, the executables are /usr/local/bin/automakeX.XX and /usr/local/bin/autoconfX.XX, where the X.XX are the version numbers. I am not sure if this is the right method to fix the problem in FreeBSD, but it got me past the errors. Now I can run the make command, it passes the parts recquiring automake/autoconf, and gets to a part where it needs aclocal (some error about not being able to create aclocal, which is called from aclocal.m4...I will verify the error tomorrow...it is getting late and the machine I am working on is unavailable right now). Aclocal was not in the ports collection, so I need some help in getting past this error. I installed /usr/ports/devel/ac-archive, which I thought might have some aclocal files in it, but this didn't work either. Does anyone have any hints/solutions that they could point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
