Dear KVPNC:

I have tried to compile both versions on RHEL4. They both fail with
errors that AM_PATH_LIBGCRYPT cannot find the libgcrypt library. I have
kde 3.5 installed in /usr/local/kde3.5 which the configure script seems
to find with difficulty. libgcrypt.11.2.1 is located in
usr/local/kde3.5/lib and in /usr/lib. The configure script seems to run
without an error and says it find libgcrypt. However, looking at the
generated Makefile shows several lines where it says, for example,
ACLOCAL = {$SHELL}.... missing --run aclocal-1.6. Similar messages are
seen for AUTOHEADER and AUTOMAKE-1.6. Running those programs doesn't
fix the problem. Other programs, notably KDE, compiled just fine,
although there were various warnings along the way none were fatal.

I also tried installing the rpm version 0.8.1 for fedora core 3, but
this didn't work either. It complained that it needed some newer
version of a library, but I cannot recall which one. It was not
libgcrypt.so

Any suggestions? I cannot figure this out, but I know little about
autotools.

Thanks,
Darren
