Hi,

I use the vpnc client to connect to my university's VPN network; this works nicly, but starting/stopping is done with a not very flexible command-line script.

I would like to switch to kvpnc because of the flexibility it offers. After installing and configuring, a connection can be made (I receive a VPN-ip-address), but it aborts after 60 seconds (some pre-set time in the settings). In the mean time, no connection to the network for which the VPN is meant can be made, so I conclude that there is a problem with the connection not related to getting an ip-address.

When comparing the output of "ip route" and "ip addr" (I use iproute2), the only difference I see is the mtu setting: 1390 for the kvpnc setup versus 1412 for the standard vpnc setup. Can this be the origin of my troubles? How can I change the mtu setting in kvpnc?

Are there other possible sources for my problem? What extra information should I provide?

Thanks in advance,

Erik
