actually, using the "EIA" mode you can save and
restore with the rs232 port, but the system goes
"off-line" while in EIA mode.

if you look at the data, and realize what it is, you
can use an "ascii" editor to change the saved data,
and reload it to the system.  the only two commands
you need to delete is set clock and set ext numbers
(will set clock to last data save time and date, and
exts have to obey "no two ports with same number"
rule)

wish the 1232D's had this simple data stream, we would
never need Pano or mator "tools"  ;-)
